| ABOUT US |
| The Charity is administered by a Management Committee (managing
trustees) formed at our Annual General Meeting, at which time persons
are elected to represent the regular community group hirers. The Committee
of Management is made up of 4 elected officer members, 4 clericals and
11 trustee members appointed for each of the designated list of organisations
in the village. The object of the charity is to maintain the Hall for the benefit of Tilney St. Lawrence and the surrounding communities. The continuing help of local volunteers and the employment of part-time caretaker, cleaner, booking clerk and groundsman achieve this. |

| The financial situation is fully covered by the statement and report
submitted by the Treasurer, who provides a detailed report at each monthly
meeting for the Village Committee. In addition to monies derived from
hirings, income has also been generated by fund raising in the form of
Quiz nights, Social Evenings with Racing, Las Vegas Nights, a well organised
monthly bingo, cabarets, 5-A-Side Football Tournament and our Summer Fete
& Fun Day. Usage of the hall remains very much in demand, 8 groups or clubs, the Parish Council, Baby Clinic and a Ballet & Tap Dancing school meet regularly to take full advantage of our great facilities. Tilney St Lawrence Football Club have also been using the hall and playing field for many years. There is still frequent use for private parties of all types, wedding receptions, shows, fund raising activities and meetings in the hall. |
| MONTHLY MEETINGS
The committee meets in the Village Hall, on the second Monday of each month
at 7.30pm. Members of the public are welcome. |
| CHARITY INFORMATION
Registration History -15th August 1968 Objective CHARITY HISTORY Until 1983, the Old Village Hall in St. John’s Road, Tilney St
Lawrence, and the Playing Field in Magdelen Road were managed by two
separate Committees. At the Village Hall AGM in 1983 the two Committees
joined forces to become the Tilney St. Lawrence Village Committee in
order to work together on plans for the new Village Hall. The two old
Committees had always been registered separately with the Charity Commission
as Charity Numbers 304,091 and 304,092, with different trustees and
separate accounts. A Deed of Appointment made the Parish Council the
Trustee of the Playing Field Charity in 1989, and the TSL Village Committee
Members have been Charity Trustees of the Village Hall Charity since
1990. Two attempts to set up Schemes with the Charity Commission in
2000 and 2002 to officially amalgamate the two Charities under one administration
with one trusteeship, had both broken down during negotiation, and had
never been completed successfully. |
